Hey there, thanks for visiting my site.
I grew up in Princeton, NJ, I took apart a TV in 5th grade. Later, I studied music and sound design in college at Sarah Lawrence and moved to Brooklyn after graduation. I toured the country twice with my rock band RANA. I did or saw just about everything you’d see on Behind The Music. It was a blast.
When I returned to NYC, I moved to Manhattan and started working as a sound engineer at the Blue Note and BB King Blues Club. I got the chance to mix ZZ Top, Jackson Browne, Abbey Lincoln and Method Man among others. I met my wife Rena after three years on the job, and quit almost immediately thereafter. The work lasted until 3am, and if I'm working that late, I'd rather be onstage than behind the soundboard.
I took at job installing TVs and speakers in people’s apartments, but quickly moved onto a larger firm and larger projects. I worked for 4 years as a Director Of Automation Systems - designing custom electronic designs for hotels, buildings, and expensive homes. Lighting, temperature, blinds, A/V control all on your iPhone/iPad. Now I am a private consultant working with builders, developers and home owners to integrate technology into their projects.
At some point along the way my wife urged me to take a test for Mensa, and I passed which is hilarious because I was told I had a learning disability in grade school.
I was married in October 27th, 2006 and we had our son Elia on January 26th, 2009. We live near Washington Square Park in Manhattan.
Andrew
